Training consults at Drools are led by co-owner Claire, who has over 8 years of experience in the industry. Claire holds a certificate in Dog Psychology & Training and has completed a Cert III in Dog Behaviour and Training through the NDTF (National Dog Trainers Federation). Her passion for animals and nature led her into the animal care industry, where she’s been dedicated to improving the lives of dogs ever since. 

In 2020, Claire welcomed Murphy, a 40kg cattle x mastiff, into her home. Murphy was a smart, high-energy dog with good socialization skills and obedience. However, his intense leash reactivity to other dogs, animals, and people came as a surprise and presented a unique challenge. After seeking help from a respected local dog trainer to address Murphy’s reactivity, Claire’s interest in dog training deepened, sparking her journey into further learning and education.

Claire’s experience with Murphy has taught her the importance of consistency, patience, and mental stimulation in building a strong relationship with dogs. She believes that true well-being for dogs goes beyond daily walks or trips to the dog park. Structured play, enrichment activities, and ongoing training are key to keeping their minds sharp and their behavior well-balanced.
